Fun Camping Lights Ideas

Camping can get really tiring after a long day outside. No matter how much you love the outdoors, there is always a point when you just want to feel cozy, but you can still get that in the woods with a simple touch of camping lights.

When preparing for camping, lighting is often the factor that is overlooked, we usually just pick the necessary lighting, a flashlight, maybe a lamp, a rechargeable bulb, but a good pretty set of lights can truly elevate one’s camping experience. Below shows some ideas you can do to elevate your camping lighting.

Firefly Jars

These are really REALLY pretty and also really easy to make! We all know how pretty fireflies are as they fly around illuminating the darkness of the night, but how about replicating that beauty in a jar and making your camping site look like it just came out of Pinterest? Here are what you need to make a firefly jar for your own, trust us, this is really easy to make;

  • A clear jar with lead (mason jars would be PERFECT!)
  • Glow in the Dark Paint
  • Battery Operated Copper string lights

And that’s it, those are everything you need! Oh the glow in the dark paint is optional, but a little more flare doesn’t hurt anyone.

Campfire

That crackling noise and warm feel that a campfire provides truly completes a camping experience. Not only does a campfire improve the ambiance of such comfort, it also provides a comfortable illumination in your campsite. However, we now fires can get really dangerous, so make sure your campsite allows one, and if does, always take precautions such as;

  • Campfires should be placed AT LEAST 25m away from anything that can burn
  • Clear the area from bushes, twigs, leaves and anything hanging to avoid fires
  • If it is a windy day or a very dry day, it is best to not start a campfire at all.
  • Do not use any flammable or combustible liquids to avoid uncontrollable spread of fire.
  • Always have a water source available nearby as well as a shovel to bury the flames in case something gets out of hand.
  • Make sure the campfire is COMPLETELY put out before leaving the site.

White Sheet

Now, here us out. Sometimes direct light can get painful to the eyes, hence, having a white sheet to reflect the light will provide a softer illumination, which is kinder to the eyes and would feel more comfortable. It can also distribute the light better than using a flashlight normally.

Glow in the Dark Stars

They might sound childish, but trust us on this, have a few glow in the dark stars in your tent to perfectly elevate your stay in the tent.

Tea Candles

This is another way to utilize mason jars! Just light your candles and place them inside the mason jars, but make sure that your mason jars are heat safe. This would help your campsite feel romantic too! A tip we can give is to use citronella candles as a two-in-one mosquito repellant, but any good scented candle should truly elevate the mood anytime.

In Conclusion…

There are lots of fun, easy ideas you can do with camping lights to make your experience even more enjoyable. Whether it’s hanging pretty firefly jars around your campsite or using a white sheet to reflect light, there are plenty of ways to customize your lighting. Don’t forget about campfires either- they provide great ambiance as well as illumination. Tea candles in mason jars are also a great way to add some romance (or mosquito repellant) to your trip. With so many options, there’s no reason not to get creative with your camping lights! Thanks for reading.
